Warehousing and logistics services
The Port of Gothenburg has a wide range of warehousing and logistics services. This is where your cargo has the best possible preparation before sea transport, for example by stuffing into containers or changing load carrier. If the cargo arrives via the Port of Gothenburg, there are a number of import warehouses at your disposal. There are also transshipment terminals for items such as breakbulk, forestry products, steel and imported goods. Many of them are connected to the rail network.

Logistic Hub Scandinavia
The Gothenburg region has been named Sweden’s best logistics location for more than 20 years. One decisive factor behind this is the Port of Gothenburg with our unique geographical location. But there are many reasons and many actors behind this undisputed success, one of them being Logistic Hub Scandinavia.
Logistic Hub Scandinavia is a unique, cross-border collaboration between Business Region Göteborg, Swedavia Airport Landvetter and the Port of Gothenburg, which aims to enhance the region’s position as a leading logistics location. This is to be achieved by attracting new logistics operators as well as new airlines and shipping lines. The actors are collaborating to boost Gothenburg’s role as a transport hub and a logistics centre for Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
Short distances between the port and warehouses mean low logistical costs and direct routes for goods trains, regular rail services, giving companies in Norway and Sweden the opportunity for climate-friendly transport operations to and from the Port of Gothenburg. The goods chain is enhanced by Landvetter Airport, which offers international air freight. Terminals and warehouses close to the airport provide the fastest transshipment of cargo in the whole of Europe. Swedavia, which operates Göteborg Landvetter Airport, is a world leader in the development of airports with minimal environmental impact. Business Region Göteborg has a central role in the development of the logistics centre in Scandinavia, and offers both advanced and free-of-charge services in the areas of investment and new startups in the region. Best logistics location for more than 20 years
The Gothenburg region tops the list every year when the trade journal Intelligent Logistik ranks the best logistics locations in Sweden. As Sweden’s biggest cargo hub, the Port of Gothenburg plays a crucial role in this award, according to the jury, which confirms that the port’s infrastructure, investment programmes and growing cargo volumes form a healthy foundation for future growth in the region.
Access to logistics space is crucial for the functionality of a logistics region, and is therefore an important assessment criterion in naming the best logistics location in Sweden. There has been exceptionally strong growth in logistics space in recent years, confirms Intelligent Logistik, and more new land has been added in the past year for new logistics businesses – not only in areas close to the port in Hisingen, but also further out in the region, in Landvetter and Borås, for example.
