Why choose Gothenburg?
Gothenburg offers the pulse of the big city, a globally unique archipelago and the biggest port in the Nordic region – all in one place. The easily accessible location on the west coast and the quick approach also help make the port an attractive stop for cruise ships.
The Port of Gothenburg has a favourable geographical location on the west coast of Sweden – halfway between Copenhagen and Oslo. The cruise season extends all year round, as the port is always guaranteed to be free of ice. There are two dedicated cruise berths with associated terminals, as well as two additional berths providing the facility to moor the biggest vessels. We are well-equipped to welcome cruise ships of all sizes.
- Easily accessible, navigable both day and night
- Tugboats not always mandatory
- No tides
- No limit to the height or width of vessels
- No restrictions due to darkness
- The approach from open sea to quayside around 90–120 minutes
- Range of services: bunkering, waste handling, grey and black water, and bunkering of fresh water.
