Great interest in Sweden and internationally
The interest in logistics establishments in locations close to the port is great in Sweden and internationally, and for the Port of Gothenburg the main reasons are:
- Best logistics location for over 20 years.
- Scandinavia's largest import/export port
- New large logistics establishments, including at the Port of Gothenburg at Hisingen and at Landvetter Airport
- Short distances from the import port to the warehouse result in low logistics costs
- An advanced, rapidly growing transport infrastructure with the environment in focus
- National center for research and development in sustainable logistics solutions and transport
- The railway at the port is served daily by 70 freight trains, of which 25 are dedicated to containers. These go to cities all over Sweden and to Norway
- There are several railway terminals in the port area, including Arken Kombiterminal
- Proximity to the automotive industry and its subcontractors
The goal and strategy for land development in Halvorsäng take as a starting point in the market, the competitive situation and the port's land holdings for logistics construction with the goal of contributing to a strong, efficient and sustainable Scandinavian freight hub by offering highly efficient logistics premises. For logistics buildings erected, the intention is to sign leases with businesses that have business advantages from location near the port.
The Port of Gothenburg has since 2008 carried out preparatory work in Halvorsäng and the detailed plan was adopted in 2015. The area in question comprises approx. 270,000 sq m with approx. 155,000 sq m of BTA. Within parts of Halvorsäng, it is possible to erect high-rise buildings with a total height of 35 metres, other buildings have a building height of a maximum of 15 metres.
The Port of Gothenburg's ambitious environmental goals will shape the development. It was a clear requirement when choosing a JV partner that he shared our goals regarding the environment and sustainability.
