Selected prizes and awards …

The Port of Gothenburg has in recent years received a number of prizes and awards as confirmation of its environmental work.



Nobelux Grand Prix d’Excellence for Environment & Climate Action 2012 The Port of Gothenburg and Stena Line received the for their work on onshore power supply.Since 2011, all Stena Line ferries shut down their engines when they berth in the Port of Gothenburg. Instead they use environmentally labelled onshore power to maintain power supplies on board.

 

Energy Globe Award 2011 from November 2011 is the most recent. The Port of Gothenburg received the award for its work on shoreside power supply for vessels at berth. The award comprises a cash amount of EUR 5,000 and a bronze statue.

Sustainable Shipping Award 2011 was awarded to the Port of Gothenburg for the support programmes produced for shipping companies and operators that are at the forefront in implementing environmental and climate measures. Future Transport Award 2009 was awarded to the Port of Gothenburg for its rail shuttles.

Pegasus Award 2009 was presented to the Port of Gothenburg for the rail shuttles and for a broad-based environmental programme that included environmentally differentiated port charges and shoreside power supply for vessels at berth.

Schenker Logistics Award 2008 was presented to the Port of Gothenburg for the rail system RailPort Scandinavia.

 

Clean Seas Award 2008 was presented by Lloyd's Lists. The Port of Gothenburg received the award for its work on shoreside power supply for vessels at berth.

 

Clean Marine Award 2004, the EU environmental award. Even here, the port received the award for its work on shoreside power supply for vessels at berth.
